Oceania's New Marina Brings Luxury Estate Home Look to Cruising

Oceania's 1,258-passenger Marina, scheduled to debut in winter 2011, will be decorated to look and feel like a "luxurious estate home," said Oceania President Bob Binder.

The First Dream Arrives

December 3rd marks the next milestone in turning your clients' dreams into the real cruise experiences of the future when the Carnival Dream makes her inaugural 9-day homeported cruise from Port Canaveral. 

During her very first visit to Port Canaveral on November 18, more than 5,000 members of the local community joined the Canaveral Port Authority and travel agents from around the country in a Sail-A-Bration. 

The event included a food drive and a drawing for a free cruise in a Carnival Cruise Lines' penthouse suite. But the climax - as dusk fell over the harbor - was a laser light spectacular launched from Port Canaveral's Jetty Park and the deck of the Dream, as thousands bid her 'bon voyage' for the first time. 

It began with Freedom of the Seas…the excitement keeps building…to the first 7-day Port sailing of the Carnival Dream on December 12, on through 2010, 2011 and 2012, as more ships - including the Disney Dream - join the fleet of the future at The Port of Dreams, Port Canaveral.

  If you want a paper ticket for your cruise documents from CelebrityCruise or Royal Caribbean International, you will be charged $35. Both of these cruise lines are trying to shift customers to accepting electronic cruise documents.

 Rivers Cruises are on the upswing and many of the well-known river cruise companies are planning to build more river cruise boats.  

Carnival's newest cruise ship, Carnival Dream, will be sailing to the Caribbean for the 2010 season starting in December. The 130,000 ton ship was presented in Italy on September 21, 2009 and will be named on November 12, 2009 with another ceremony in New York Harbour. The Carnival Dream will sail from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean. The Dream boasts an amazing waterpark that breaks the record for the longest waterslide. 

The Governor of Alaska has no plans to repeal the Cruise Tax

Alaska's new governor, Sean Parnell, told reporters in Alaska this week that he would be reluctant to support a repeal or reduction of the state's $50 head tax on cruise passengers.
